MAD MEN – A Poem
Words: Red Lady
Artwork: Red Lady
Pretty face to a dull mind.
Skirt to the knee,
Crimson lips,
Locks tucked up high.
Grey hairs sprout from wrinkled skin.
Poised suit,
Breathe of gin,
Eyes chase a little more than just a pretty smile.
Living in blind harmony,
Until rough palms echo on milky cheeks,
Roast beef after a hard day’s work,
Tends to broken bones.
Connected only by money and smoke.
Love: a myth,
Loyalty: a crime,
Life: a joke.
Both souls seek mending,
Craving affection they’ll never know.
Rotten flesh beneath dry cleaned coats.
